Board Approved Marriage and Family Therapy Supervision

Amy Engelhard, LMFT is a Board Approved Supervisor for Marriage and Family Therapy and currently sees supervisees in individual, dyads, and group who are looking to becoming licensed as LMFTs. Amy has worked in a variety of settings, including private practice, a large outpatient clinic, day treatment programming, in-home services, in-school, and case management services. She has a variety of experiences with different clientele, though has found her niche working with children, teens, parents and pregnancy/postpartum. While her therapeutic style is eclectic, Amy draws much of her work from Structural Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy, CBT, and Play Therapy. Clients tend to see Amy as genuine, warm, and humorous.

In supervision, Amy loves to focus on self-as-therapist and balancing our professional lives with our personal lives. The supervisor/supervisee relationship is co-constructed with the supervisee, making myself the conversational partner. Goals will be created and tailored to the supervisee’s current needs, background, and place on their journey to licensure.

Amy brings a genuine and collaborative style to supervision. Supervisees can see themselves working towards moving past just theoretical orientation and creating more of a sense of the therapeutic style is uniquely “you.”

Group supervision is currently structured for check-in, self-as-therapist, and case consultation. We will meet one Saturday a month, pending interest of 3-6 supervisees.

Finding the right supervisor is important to the growth of new therapists. Amy welcomes interested supervisees to email or call her and meet for a free in-person consultation to see if she is the right fit for you. Please contact Amy at amy@mindfulfamiliestherapy.com or 612-568-8505 for additional information, including rates, Amy’s complete philosophy to supervision document, supervision contract, and to schedule consultation.
