Jinny Stoner

Jinny Stoner, BS (She/Her) is a graduate student in Counseling Psychology at the University of St. Thomas. She believes therapy is a space where clients can slow down, feel genuinely heard, and explore the parts of life that may feel difficult to navigate alone. Her goal is to create a warm, supportive environment where clients feel safe to show up as they are, without judgment or pressure to have everything figured out.
Jinny’s therapeutic approach is rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and person-centered principles. She values building authentic, collaborative relationships with clients and incorporates motivational interviewing, validation, and affirmation to support meaningful self-exploration and growth.
Jinny has a special interest in supporting women navigating life transitions and evolving identities, including pregnancy, postpartum experiences, motherhood, and relationship changes. She has completed the PSI certificate training for the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders in hopes of working with new mothers as well. She is particularly drawn to the emotional complexities of these transitions and the process of rediscovering oneself through different stages of life.
She also has a strong interest in working with individuals navigating multicultural identities, immigration experiences, and the complexities of belonging to more than one culture.
Jinny works with children ages 6 and older, adolescents, and adults. She is currently practicing under the clinical supervision of Allison Peterson, MA, LP, PMH-C.
