Katherine Minor

Katherine Minor, BA (She/Her/Hers) is a graduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Superior earning a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Before beginning at Mindful Families, she worked with families as a wedding and portrait photographer, taught English to adults and children in Japan, and worked with high school students in a supportive position in a school counseling office.
Katherine endeavors to provide a safe, compassionate, and warm environment to help her clients explore their life and concerns in therapy. Her approach integrates mindfulness practices, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Katherine’s approach takes strong influence from her work learning about human development, her interest in complex and intergenerational trauma, and curiosity about the human experience throughout life's many transitions.
Katherine is interested in supporting parents in the transition to parenthood and has completed the PSI certificate training for the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders in hopes of working with new mothers as well.
Katherine is open to working with clients six and up, including individuals, couples, and families, and is currently working under the clinical supervision of Allison Peterson, MA, LP, PMH-C.
